Let me tell you about the characteristics of common insulation materials

1、 In construction projects, the raw materials used to control the heat loss in the room are often referred to as insulation materials, and the raw materials used to prevent outdoor heat from entering the room are referred to as insulation materials. Both are called insulation materials.

1. Thermal insulation materials are mainly used in projects such as walls and roofs, thermal equipment and pipelines, cold storage, or winter construction projects.

2.The good or bad insulation multifunctional index value of insulation raw materials is determined by the size of the material's thermal conductivity coefficient. The lower the heat transfer coefficient, the better the insulation characteristics. The pore structure and relative humidity have a significant impact on the thermal conductivity coefficient.

3.Generally, raw materials with a heat transfer coefficient below 0.23W/(m · K) are called insulation materials, while raw materials with a heat transfer coefficient below 0.14W/(m · K) are called insulation materials; Raw materials with a constant heat transfer coefficient not exceeding 0.05W/(m · K) are called high-efficiency insulation materials.

4. Building decoration materials are classified into four levels based on their combustion performance: A (flame retardancy), B1 (flame retardancy), B2 (flammability), and B3 (combustibility). The internal and external insulation systems of engineering buildings should use insulation materials with a combustion performance level of A, and it is not suitable to use insulation materials with a level of B2. It is prohibited to use insulation materials with a level of B3.

5.When selecting insulation materials with combustion performance levels of B1 and B2 according to relevant specifications and standards for the external wall insulation system, the following requirements must be met:

1) Except for commercial buildings that use B1 level insulation raw materials and have a building density not exceeding 24m, residential buildings that use B1 level insulation raw materials and have a building density not exceeding 27m can also use them. The fire integrity of the exterior walls and windows must not be less than 0.50h.

2) Horizontal fire isolation zones need to be set up on each layer of the insulation system. Fire isolation belts should use raw materials with a combustion performance level of A, and the spacing between fire isolation belts should not be less than 300mm.

2、 Fiber thermal insulation material

1. Rock wool board and slag wool are widely used in environments with temperatures around 600 ℃. Its main disadvantages are high water absorption capacity and low elasticity. Slag cotton can be used as insulation and sound-absorbing materials for building walls, roofs, ceilings, and other areas, as well as insulation raw materials for heating pipelines. The combustion performance grade is non combustible material.

2. Stone wool can be widely used in environments with temperatures ranging from 500 to 600 ℃. Due to the harmful effects of smoke and dust in Shimanli on human health, it is rarely used in industrial buildings. Currently, it is mainly used for thermal insulation, insulation, and fire safety covering in public buildings.

3. Glass fiber cotton, applied at an ambient temperature of 400 ℃. It is commonly used for insulation and heat preservation in electrical equipment and buildings with relatively low ambient temperatures, and it is also a good sound-absorbing material. The combustion performance grade of glass fiber cotton is non combustible material.

4. Ceramic fiber, with a large application environment temperature of 1100-1350 ℃, is suitable for continuous high-temperature insulation and sound absorption. Specially used in various environments with sustained high temperature, high pressure, and easy damage.
