What is thermal insulation material? Introduction to relevant features and performance

Category:Industry news Release date:2023-01-30 17:28:00

The characteristics of thermal insulation materials are as follows:

1. Lightweight and high hardness thick plate

Thermal insulation materials have a very special structure. Completely closed cell foaming forms a lightweight and uniform honeycomb structure with closed cells, which is lightweight and has high strength. It is very convenient to carry and easy to cut and fix.

2. Good thermal insulation performance.

Thermal insulation materials have the characteristics of high thermal resistance and low linear expansion rate, making them a good insulation material. Widely used for insulation and heat preservation in buildings such as apartments, buildings, and factories, it can reduce the consumption of natural resources and increase the comfort of living.

3. High compressive strength.

Due to the uniform thickness of the honeycomb wall formed by the structure of PET polyester film, there are no gaps between the walls, which can meet the requirements even as a manned or parking platform.

4. Extremely low water absorption rate

Thermal insulation materials have a complete closed cell structure with no gaps on both sides, making it impossible for water generated by leakage, condensation, and freeze-thaw cycles to penetrate. The water absorption rate is very low, allowing the performance of the use right board to be continuously and stably exerted.

5. The moisture-proof effect is very good.

Thermal insulation materials can effectively block the penetration of ground gases and produce moisture-proof effects at high temperatures. In addition, it can also serve as an internal barrier for moisture-proof flooring, protecting buildings from moisture damage.

6. Low cost.

The use of PET polyester film can greatly reduce the cost of construction workers, and the processing and transportation are very convenient, with low indirect usage costs.

To determine the performance of thermal insulation materials, the following technical perspectives can be considered:

(1) Thermal insulation performance: The lower the thermal conductivity of the insulation material, the thinner the required design thickness, the lower the cost, and the fewer joint design issues. The higher the thermal conductivity, the greater the required thickness, and the lower the possibility of product molding.

(2) Water absorption performance: The insulation performance of thermal insulation materials will sharply decrease in the water absorbing state, so the insulation materials used in engineering should have a low water absorption rate. At present, rock wool board, phenolic board, and traditional insulation mortar are all highly absorbent materials, and their actual insulation performance is far from ideal.

(3) Fireproof performance: According to national standards, A-grade insulation materials should be used, and B2 should not be used. B3 is strictly prohibited to prevent fire accidents.

(4) Shape stability: Thermal insulation materials should have good shape stability. If the exterior wall panels are warped, it is easy to cause cracks and water seepage in the exterior wall finish. For example, extruded insulation materials, phenolic boards, polyurethane boards, etc. The purchased insulation materials should try to avoid problems such as cracking and peeling due to deformation of the board.

(5) Construction convenience: As a common insulation system, thermal insulation materials have mature construction technology, making them a very good choice.
